Do Animals Have Emotion?

How do you react when someone helps you? We say thanks and show gratitude.
Ever thought do animals feel the same, do they say thanks or show gratitude?

It happened with me once, I was having a stroll after dinner and met a friend. We were just catching up on things and suddenly heard a dog cry, initially we did not give it much attention however we could feel the pain in what we heard.
It wasn’t long that we realized that something was not right and a dog kept coming to us touched our feet and made a sound and moved towards a small pit. Initially we did not react however when it happened for couple of times we decided to take a look where the dog wants us to go.
There was a small puppy who fell into the pit and then we realized the dog wanted us to help the puppy. We were a little cautious what if the dog bites us?
However, when we came close to the pit the Dog moved on a side to give us some space and then we knew it was not going to bite!
I took the puppy out and as it stopped crying we felt a sense of relief by helping another living being.
What happened after that was amazing and definitely the reason why I wrote this blog? The Dog just put his head on my feet and just sat there, we moved to a different place and it happened again the dog was around us for the entire time we were chatting and while going back I just tickled the dog's head and could sense the gratitude in the dogs eyes. It touched my heart, just to see how a small gesture can make such a difference. The dog was in need and as we helped we got to know that animals do have emotions.

I could not forget that night when an animal taught me something:
Helping someone can change a life.
Help, it does wonders!
